Windows is provided as a shared desktop on Windows Server 2025 (RDS) via our
Citrix platform. Using Office requires a Microsoft 365 license of type
E3 or Business Premium – Business Basic/Standard
are not sufficient on a terminal server.

A cloud desktop – also known as a virtual workplace, virtual desktop or
Desktop as a Service (DaaS) – is a full Windows desktop that does not run locally on
your PC but on a server in our data center. You connect via a browser or a small
client – and see your familiar desktop with all your programs and files,
no matter which device you use.
For regular office work (email, Word, Excel, browser) an internet connection of
10 Mbit/s is already sufficient. For video conferencing or graphics-intensive
applications we recommend at least 25 Mbit/s. Modern compression algorithms keep
the desktop feeling smooth even on mediocre connections.
Yes. Your desktops, files and sessions run entirely on our own infrastructure in
German data centers – governed by German and European law. The US CLOUD Act obliges
American cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google) to give US authorities access to the
data they store. Your data is not held by any US provider – and is therefore beyond
the reach of that access. On request, we also fix Germany as the data location
explicitly in your contract.
In almost all cases, yes. Any Windows-compatible application can be installed on
your virtual desktop – from Microsoft 365 to industry-specific software.
We check the compatibility of your key applications in advance, free of charge.
During an internet outage, access to the cloud desktop is temporarily unavailable –
as with any other cloud service. For critical scenarios we can integrate offline
solutions or LTE failover options. Inside the data center your desktop keeps
running – it simply waits for you to come back.
We can provision standard desktops within 24 hours. For more complex setups with
custom software images, Active Directory integration or VPN connectivity we plan
a project timeline of 3–5 business days together with you.

Yes. Our team supports you in English and German – from the initial consultation

so working in English is part of our normal routine.
The basic principle is the same: applications and desktops run centrally on a
server instead of on the local PC. A classic terminal server (Microsoft RDS)
usually sits in your own server room and has to be maintained, licensed and
secured by you. The cloud desktop – sometimes called a hosted desktop – is the
modern version: you effectively rent your terminal server from a German data
center, built on Citrix, fully managed, with no hardware of your own and no
upfront investment.
Yes – the sovereign one: Windows 365 (Cloud PC) and Azure Virtual Desktop run in
Microsoft's cloud and are therefore subject to the US CLOUD Act. Our cloud desktop
offers comparable convenience but runs exclusively in a German data center – with
personal support instead of a hotline, predictable prices in euros and full GDPR
compliance. If you are looking for a European alternative to the US hyperscalers,
this is it.
VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) means virtual desktops that a company runs on
its own infrastructure – including servers, storage, licenses and administration.
DaaS (Desktop as a Service) is the same desktop virtualization technology as a
subscription: we operate the VDI platform in the data center, you simply use your
desktops – all the benefits, none of the complexity.
In most cases, yes. Instead of tunnelling into the company network via VPN and then
using remote desktop (RDP) to reach an office PC, your employees log in directly to
their cloud desktop – encrypted via Citrix HDX, protected by two-factor
authentication. That is faster, more stable and more secure than the classic
VPN-plus-RDP chain, which requires every office PC to keep running.
It is strongest wherever sensitive data meets compliance requirements: tax advisory
and accounting firms, medical practices, law firms, and small and medium-sized
businesses with distributed locations or remote teams. In general, DaaS fits any
company from a handful of workplaces to several hundred users that does not want
to run its own IT department.
It takes a large part of the technical duties off your plate: centralized patch
management, daily backups, access control with two-factor authentication,
encryption, and documented operations in an ISO 27001-certified German data center
with EU data residency. These are core building blocks required by NIS2,
GDPR and industry standards. It does not replace legal advice or a full compliance
program – but it makes the technical side considerably easier.
Our Windows desktops are provided as shared desktops on Windows Server 2025
(Remote Desktop Services). Microsoft only permits Office in such terminal server
environments with plans that support Shared Computer Activation – Microsoft 365
Business Premium and Microsoft 365 / Office 365 E3 (or higher). Business Basic and
Business Standard are not sufficient. You can bring your existing license or
purchase the right plan directly from us – we will advise you which plan is most
economical for your team. And if you do not need Office at all, your Windows
desktop works without any Microsoft 365 license – just like all Linux desktops.

For us, the cloud desktop is not a trend product – it is the fifth generation of a
technology our founder has been building and running for almost three decades.
Back in 1998 – when terminal servers were still installed from CD and 64 MB of RAM
counted as a well-equipped server – Patrick Bienert set up his first
terminal servers: Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition with Citrix MetaFrame 1.0,
central applications for entire departments, maintained in one single place. The
principle convinced people then for the same reasons it does today: less maintenance,
more security, every workplace ready to go.
Since then he has worked through every generation of this technology in practice –
from MetaFrame and Presentation Server through XenApp and XenDesktop to today's
Citrix platforms, across all Windows Server versions, hardware generations and
security requirements. That experience is baked into every decision behind our cloud
desktop: the sizing of the RDS servers, the choice of access technology, backup
concepts proven in real incidents. In short: you are not getting an
